Situated in the stupendous hills of the province of Siena, at a height of 650 m above sea level, Agriturismo Pianoia is conveniently and tranquilly nestled between the districts of Pienza (Monticchiello) and Montepulciano, immersed in the Natural, Artistic and Cultural Park of the Val d’Orcia, classified a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Agriturismo Pianoia, a country stone farmhouse dating back to the 1700’s, is one of the oldest to be found in the District of Pienza. Discerningly restored, conserving the original courtyard wall and respecting the characteristics of its time, Agriturismo Pianoia is surrounded by 360° of immeasurable natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The farmhouse is able to accomodate up to 12 persons and is laid out in two floors as follows:
Suite “La Cantina” – sleeps 2 + 1. (so called because in its time farmers used it to make wine)
Situated on the ground floor, this spacious double bedroom has been finely furnished with four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom. A comfortable living room offers the possibility of comfortably accommodating a single bed. A second independent entrance gives out onto the lawn and olive grove. The room includes a bar fridge and satellite television (Italian television and music stations).

Suite “Il Vaglio” – sleeps 2+1. (deriving its name from the tradition of threshing the grains to select seeds for sowing)
Situated on the ground floor, a roomy double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. A comfortable living space offers the possibiity of accomodating a single bed. The suite includes a bar fridge and satellite television.

“Nobile” Apartament ( prizely situated with views opening onto Montepulciano, home of the world famous views and Vino Nobile)
Situated on the first floor, the apartment is divided into fitted kitchen with ample dining-living room space (dining table comfortably seats 12 guests); three generous double bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom. One of the rooms has a four-poster bed. From the large windows, one can admire Montepulciano, home of the Vino Nobile and the privately-owned oak and chestnut woods that flanks the farmhouse.

Wood-burning oven & BBQ

We have taken great pride and pleasure in restoring the original stone wood-burning oven, traditionally used to baked bread, now ideal for making pizzas or a BBQ to sample a typical Fiorentina steak!
